It’s a chilly, grey November day.
My oldest turns 14 in 3 days. I can remember the day like it was just yesterday: a vivid memory.
I was raking leaves, for hours. It was chilly and grey, like today.
After raking, I hobbled inside and went straight to my bed for a nap.
We were supposed to go out that evening.
And then, everything changed.
Motherhood. Magic. Responsibility. Bliss. Light.
It’s a dark time of year for so many of us, in the northern hemisphere.
I’m sending out big love to everyone: mothers, fathers, students I teach, children, friends, family, strangers… everywhere… wishing you light in the dark. Lightness in the short days. The dark evenings. The dark mornings. The grey.
May you find your light in the darkness.
In wild blossom spirit,
Gillian
